Reasons for trip

The Palm Court Brasserie is in King’s Street just off Covent Garden market square so is easy to find. Traditional décor, comfortable, and staff and service were excellent. We had a pre-booked pre-theatre two course meal for £12 so a good price compared with the walk-in price of £14.95, with a good selection of dishes from the set menu and just paying extra for drinks.

I had citrus marinated salmon with shredded celeriac and Leslie chose baked brie in a very fine filo pastry case, much lighter than we expected it to be. We both had gammon (a very large piece, very tender) on mashed potato with a rich, tasty gravy – very nice. No dessert this time, as we only had just over an hour before the theatre, but a glass of house white wine and a small bottled lager went down very well.

It is easy to find, comfortable and can accommodate you if you have some difficulties with mobility (although not sure about wheelchair access as it would be fairly difficult to get around tables). We would certainly go back to the restaurant again and make sure we book a table beforehand.
