Reasons for trip

We were really looking forward to our day trip on the Waverly going from Whitstable in Kent up to London Bridge. We went yesterday the 6th of October. Four friends out for the day. All started very well. We were very impressed with this boat. We picked up many people at various stops along the way. Then the weather changed and it poured down with heavy rain with the wind getting up for almost the whole trip. Everyone was trying to find some form of shelter. We found inside the boat we were packed in like sardines up on deck any form of shelter was full to capacity. We also noticed that people who found places to sit in the bars or tea rooms stayed sat in these seats all day. So consequently an awful lot of us passengers had to stand for the entire trip from 11am to docking at 6-30pm. (not at all good when you see the majority of passengers were over 60.) The gangways down below were full to capacity as were all the bars tea rooms etc. An awful lot of people were pretty angry and tired from this constant standing all day. From what we could gather one of the trips had been cancelled and these passengers were given the option of going on yesterday’s trip. If the weather had been at least dry some of us could have at least sat outside. This boat seems to be really very overcrowded yesterday which really spoilt what could have been a really lovely day out. Whilst not being expensive at nearly £100 for two of us for a days adventure. It is when it is ruined by overcrowding. Myself and my three travelling companions were so tired from having to stand for the whole trip we and many others couldn’t wait to get off and onto our coach back so that we could at least sit down. Many many people were so angry at not being able to sit at all all day and the overcrowding was a talking point amongst many fellow travellers.

On this experience on this day we certainly would not recommend this trip to anybody.
