Looking for something different we stayed at THE OVERLANDER MOUNTAIN LODGE and what a find it was. Sitting at the edge of Jasper National Park it's a 35 minute drive east of Jasper on the Yellow Head Highway(Highway 16). Don't be put off by the drive. The road is very good and passes through an area of truly unique natural beauty with spectacular scenery and wildlife on every side. The road passes the famous MIETTE HOT SPRINGS (hottest in the Rockies) 17km further up the wonderfully named Fiddle Valley. Overlander boasts large spotlessly clean comfortable rooms, friendly courteous staff and magnificent views of the Rockies. Service in the restaurant was efficient with superb food and knowledgeable staff. Try the Walleye(pike) or Bison. A roaring fire in the lounge and no t v or telephone in the bedrooms made for two nights of tranquility. TRY IT. OVERLANDER MOUNTAIN LODGE, HINTON, ALBERTA.
