They say the simple ideas are usually the best … and I think these Ooozu language cards fit the bill! I found them on Amazon whilst trying to find a small compact Spanish phrase book as a gift for my sister in law who was due to go on holiday. Like me she always tries to have a go at speaking at least a few words of the “local lingo” whenever on holiday!
The translation includes greetings,days of the week & basic phrases you might find useful such as “Where is the bus station” or “I’d like a sandwich” (see photos). Although there is no pronunciation included (except for the Turkish & Greek cards) you have the option of showing the card to whoever you are trying to converse with.
I think they are a brilliant idea as they could easily be placed into a purse,wallet,pocket or handbag and ideal for those who want some basic phrases to hand in a convenient format. Made of biodegradable plastic – no problems if you spill your beer or wine on them!!
The available languages are Italian, Spanish, French, German, Portugese, Greek & Turkish. All cards are double sided. A single card costs £1.99 plus 53p p&p with a multi pack of all 7 languages costing £5.99 (plus 53p p&p).
