From the moment we stepped out of the taxi door after a long flight you’re made to feel very special and that nothing is too much trouble.
We stayed in a suite, which had a entrance, lounge, bedroom, bathroom and balcony. Rooms are really spacious with separate dressing area. Lovely quality furnishings, reflecting the sense of luxury. A lovely touch of fruit basket and huge ‘drawer’ of chocolates were a treat.
Bed was super comfortable and our balcony had a lovely view over the beautifully manicured gardens. The only challenge was the amount of lights you had to switch off at bedtime!
Breakfast was a la carte and taken in ‘The Dining Room’, which is exclusively reserved for The Residence Guests. Whilst is was very hot we chose to eat outside and fans were strategically placed in an attempt to cool us down.
The service by the pool is simply brilliant and the pool area is very very quiet and peaceful, to the point of at times you could hear a pin drop. It really is an oasis in the centre of Dubai. We had daily treats served to us around the pool, including fresh fruit, speciality soft drink and added touches such as pool staff who cleaned your sunglasses for you as well as the usual cold towels and cold water you’d expect at a luxury hotel.
The hotel is really well situated and a short drive from Jumeirah Beach Walk, the Dubai Mall is around 15-20 mins drive away (can be longer in traffic), and there was never an issue in getting a taxi.
The beach is pristine, although looks out over The Palm so certainly not uninterrupted views.
We ate in the Jetty Lounge (good for drinks and light bites/small plates), and the Drift Club (great for sundowners and salads).
The wifi was superb, and really handy as we had some work to do whilst out in Dubai. All in all a superb stay with the discreet levels of service you would expect from The One and Only.
