Culture / Sightseeing

We stayed overnight at the Oddfellows Arms on Friday 6th September. It is in a beautiful location, a real chocolate box village with good access to the M6 but far away enough to feel like another world.

We decided to eat in the restaurant that night, a lovely spacious room with open beams and great atmostphere and we were very pleasantly surprised by the range of food. As we are vegetarian there is often little choice but this inn had four main courses on the standard menu and a vegetarian special of the day which is most unusual. Prices were very reasonable also and even better you could get a small portion for less of the same meal leaving room for their excellent desserts. I can thoroughly recommend the restuarant.

However, the room was comfortable but dated in decor which would have been okay but for the noise. It transpired there was a stag do on that evening but we only found out the next morning and it was very loud until the early hours of the morning, very disappointing particularly as we were not offered any recompense for this.

My advice – do go for a meal but if you plan to stay overnight make it midweek!
