This place has tremendous character.

It is very much at the end of the road but don't worry it is well signed and you won't get lost.

It is a delightful 1930s farmhouse with big wooden barn and small smithy nearby. It has considerable style with varnished oak and cherry wood panelling inside and a beautiful wooden staircase.

To the left is a large study with antique furniture and family heirlooms. There is tea and coffee available and a computer for guest use with a large table to work on. To the right is the dining room with splendid cast iron stove and large communal dining table. The kitchen is behind.

Breakfast is from 7.30 and was ample and good. It was so nice to have proper linen serviettes and good quality cutlery and crockery.

We had a large bedroom at the back of the house with a huge cast iron bedstead and comfortable mattress which overlooked the orchard. The bedroom was a bit snug but had loads of character. There was a big bathroom with lots of space and plenty of towels.

We liked this place, which consistently gets good reviews and have no hesitation in recommending it.
