Hi this is my first review on this web. I’m a well seasoned traveller and often have solo holidays, as well as friends or family holidays. This year my youngest daughter was 40 and next month I’ll be 70 so we decided on something special to celebrate these birthdays together. We opted for a Caribbean cruise and a stay in Costa Rica. The Pearl was a fabulous ship with Free style eating which was great as it gives you the flexibility too choose when you want to eat in the evenings. It’s very flexible which is a big advantage over most cruise ships with their set diner times. The food was great with so many choices of different eateries on board.the entertainment , the cabins and the staff were marvellous. The itinerary was from Miami on a round trip through the Caribbean to Aruba, then to Colombia, in south America then on to the Panama Canal, ( The high light of the trip) The ship only did a partial transit but organised excursions to complete a full transit. A memorable experience shared by everyone. Then on to Cost Rica before returning to Miami. However, my daughter and I requested permission to disembark at Puerto Limon in Costa Rica, as we’d booked an AI holiday there. The staff were very helpful in arranging a taxi for us at the quay side to whisk us off to our hotel. Of course we had to pay for the completed round cruise, but we didn’t mind paying this as its what we expected. We’ve sailed with different companies over the years but the Norwegian Pearl was one of the best. I was so impressed that I’ve booked a solo trip in January 2017 from Chile to California on the Norwegian Sun. I’ve arranged my own flights transfers and a 3 night hotel stay in Valparaiso to kick start my holiday. I can’t wait.
