North Down Farm, Lamphey, Pembrokeshire As we have a stand at Pembroke Castle Christmas Fair the last weekend in November (see previous review of the Christmas Fair), we stay B&B nearby for three nights. We decided to go with North Down Farm again this year as it was such a pleasant stay last year. A little way out of town, just before Lamphey, it is a quiet rural location that is peaceful but handy for town. Lovely extra-large comfy bed with loads of extra quilts and throws in case you get cold – not likely as the room was very warm without resorting to the extra plug-in heater. We arrived late afternoon so the landlady left our key in the front door with a note to say which bedroom was ours and she would be back soon. Tea and coffee plus fresh milk (none of those titchy little cartons), Welsh cakes and a bowl of sweets welcomed us in our room so definitely no complaints there! Breakfast is self-service, continental style with plenty of cereals, toast and croissants plus fresh fruit. There is no hot food available, nor eggs, cheese or cold meats which was fine for us but could be an issue for other guests. Overall, it is good value at £180 for 3 nights B&B for two of us, with a lovely warm welcome and clean, comfortable accommodation. Not sure if there are facilities for wheelchair users, but I think that might be difficult to accommodate. We would certainly stay there again.
