Reasons for trip

“The SkyWheel”:https://www.cliftonhill.com/attractions/niagara-skywheel in Niagara Falls is a good way to get a bird’s eye view of both the American and Horseshoe (Canadian) Falls at Niagara. At 175 feet tall it isn’t as big as the wheels in some European cities; there is only room for four adults to sit in each gondola. However, it is tall enough to give you a panoramic view around the falls area. At only $11.99 plus tax per adult ($6.99 plus tax for children aged 12 and under), it is reasonably priced. It is a bit of a hike up Clifton Hill to get to it from the falls, but it is worth it. Not that it is far; it is just steep! If you don’t fancy walking up the hill, you can take the funicular up the hill behind the Horseshoe Falls and walk across the hill to the wheel. If you are driving, there is a large parking lot at the top of the hill behind the mini golf course.

If you plan on taking in other attractions on Clifton Hill, you can get a pass for $29.95 plus tax for adults and save $25 on entrance fees ($19.95 plus tax for children 12 and under): Zombie Attack; Wild West Coaster 6D Theatre Ride; Movieland Wax Museum; Dinosaur Golf or Wizards Golf; and Ghost Blasters. Though I think the only other thing I would be tempted to do on Clifton Hill is the golf. The course looks to be in good condition and challenging – we had a good view of it from the wheel as it is right next door.

The wheel takes you round a few times so you can take in all the different perspectives and get some good photos. Rides vary from 8 to 12 minutes, depending on how many people are getting on/off the wheel at any time. When we went it was very hot (39 degrees Celsius with the humidity) but the air conditioning was working very well in the enclosed glass gondola.
