Reasons for trip

I was on business in Cardiff for a couple of days. I stayed at a hotel within walking distance from the Nandos at St David’s shopping centre. After a day ‘s work, I went into Nandos to have something to eat before I walk back to the hotel. My car was parked at the hotel car park so it is very easy to get out and have something to eat.

As I walked into the restaurant, I noticed there were two storey up-stair and down-stair. I thought this looked very nice. The restaurant looks clean and tidy. I ask the waiter if I can sit up-stair so that I can have a nice view of the shopping mall. The decoration was very nice with plants along the side of the tables. The restaurant was not busy. There were a couple of people sitting at the table in front and there was a table behind with a party of about 10 people. I went to the counter and ordered my usual 1/2 a chicken and chips, medium hot, a coleslaw and a drink.

I got the cup so I went to the drink bar to fill up with a coco cola with ice. I collected so cutlery and sauce , returned to my table and wait for my food to arrive. I waited and waited and I was feeling quite hungry and a little bit impatient by then. The smell of the food from the party behind made me feeling worse. After 20 minutes wait, I got up to the counter and to find where my food was. The girl behind the counter just said it is coming. So I got myself another drink and return to my table and keep hoping that my food my arrive soon. I sat down for another 20 minutes and still no food arrived. I felt that I had to get up again and went up to the counter and find out about my order. This time, it a young man behind the counter. He listen to my complaint and went straight down-stair and came back within 5 minutes with my lovely chicken and chips. He was very apologetic and offer me a dessert on the house. I did not take up the offer. I did enjoy the chicken and chips which were piping hot and very tasty. The chicken was succulent and smell fantastic. The coleslaw and the chips were both nice and crispy.

All in all, I enjoyed the food, the decorations and the atmosphere in Nandos at St. David’s. My biggest complaint was the wait. They had forgotten my order and left me waiting for my food like a hungry dog. I hope that was the one off incident. The young man that brought me the food up stair did explain that there were some new staff on training that day.
