Reasons for trip

Regular holiday

We travelled with two other friends on a Saga organised holiday, we boarded the MV Emanuel in Dubrovnik 14th September 2017 for a week’s cruising.

The MV Emanuel was an aging boat but the main purpose of this review is to warn other travellers that we all took ill as a result of our travel experiences.

We were initially concerned about the lack of hygiene on board. When our party of 4 and 4 other passengers left the MV Emanuel and carried on for a further week in a nearby Croatian hotel, we all fell ill with a debilitating sickness condition. We are convinced this was picked up from the MV Emanuel.

To make matters worse, when we pointed this lack of hygiene to the Saga Customers Services team, they claimed there was nothing they could do! Saga said this was a contractors responsibility. As we were all Saga customers, we could not understand why Saga could not have insisted on higher hygiene standards. We were terribly disappointed in the Saga’s lack of response and care. Surely they have a duty of care to their customers?
