The Gondola Ride operates from the Nevis Range Visitor Centre about 8 miles from Fort William (you can get here from Fort William using the No. 41 bus for less that £3 return or taxi at £12 each way). Buses are infrequent so check times. The Gondola takes you just over 2000 feet up Aonach Mor on a ride that takes you about 12 mins but it can take longer due to the odd stop or slow moving for loading goods or bikes. At the top of the ride (still 2000 odd feet from the summit) the views on a clear day are amazing. Walks are set out from the Gondola Station & you can also watch the Mountain Bikes rush headlong down the courses set out for them. Refreshments are available from the cafe here as well, including lunches. Rides cost £11:25 return per person, although you can walk t if you feel so inclined either one or both ways.
