We stayed at Hotel One in Vienna in December when we visited for the Christmas markets. I chose the hotel as it was close to all the transport links. The hotel is sited in the Westbahnhof complex which as well as currently being the main station for trains arriving from Western Europe contains a shopping arcade. The bus from the airport stops outside the hotel and there is a U-Bahn station and various tram and bus stops right outside the door. The hotel is a modern building arranged around a rather faceless quadrangle, but this serves to keep the rooms quiet and away from train and traffic noise. Rooms are fairly basically furnished with no enclosed storage areas (rails and shelves only). There is a flat screen TV and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower. Breakfast is continental and not included but can be pre-purchased for 6.5 euros if desired, The breakfast room can get busy but the system worked well and dishes were quickly refilled. The croissants were particularly good. The bar is reasonably priced for a last drink before bed.
