We stayed at the Morris apartment in Standen and loved being surrounded by William Morris designs on the curtains, the walls and also residing in house itself on the top floor. The apartment is up 2 flights of stairs so you do have to carry any luggage up quite a way, but you can drop off outside the house, but then park in the visitor area.
The views are lovely from the joint kitchen, dining and sitting room area, over the Weald with wonderful walks from the doorstep.
It was very clean, well equiped and can sleep up to 4 with a sofa bed in the sitting room, and a separate bedroom with double bed. The bathroom is very large!
Standen itself is wonderful – all the Morris designs everywhere, and the garden is a joy to explore in the evenings when you have the place to yourself. A lovely fernery near the house and good views from the terrace.
Not for the disabled and quite expensive but wonderful to stay in.
