Reasons for trip

We visited this area for the first time in a long time and were wowed by all the things you could find to do. The sunsets over the bay are famed for their beauty and a lot of the area is an area of outstanding natural beauty. If you visit Morecambe town, do not miss the stone jetty with the iconic Art Deco Midland Hotel. The town is doing a lot to pull itself out of its previous decline including an entertainment/arts venue at The Platform. From here it is also worth visiting Carnforth railway station full of memorabilia not just about trains but about the filming of Brief Encounter which took place there. Lancaster and Lancaster castle are well worth a visit. If you are interested in birds there is the magnificent Leighton Moss RSPB reserve and the Arnside/ Silverdale AONB ……good fish and chip restaurant ar Arnside. Well worth a visit.
