My husband prefers villa holidays so we don’t use hotels. I was in need of some “me” time and, after research and reading various reviews, I decided to spend a week at the Montana Pine Resort, flying from my local airport. What a great choice! Rooms are in blocks of 12 and I was pleased that I had upgraded to one with a ‘sunset and valley view’ as some inward-facing rooms must be quite gloomy. Every member of staff is very friendly, welcoming and eager to please. I believe that 2019 was the first season as an all-inclusive hotel. As a vegetarian, I always found tasty food on the salad buffet although main course choices were sometimes limited but I certainly didn’t go hungry! The grounds of the hotel are superb and maintained to an exceptional standard. Even in September, there was a profusion of colour on the plants and shrubs that line all the pathways and are abundant throughout the site. On a rainy day, I had a Turkish bath followed by a relaxing massage in the Crocus Spa which were very enjoyable. I took an evening trip to Fethiye followed by a boat trip to see the sunset and also visited Kayakoy, both of which were very interesting and enjoyable. I walked to Hisaronu where I bought a replica Norwich City football kit for my grandson’s birthday which was very well received. Not once did I feel uncomfortable as a solo female; in fact, people were generally very friendly and I enjoyed some interesting conversations with a variety of guests. I returned home refreshed and revitalised and booked to return in September 2020 but have since deferred this to May 2021.
