Reasons for trip

It was an evening flight and Malaga airport was very busy with three Monarch flights checking in at the same time. There were long queues but they were moving quickly. I collected my boarding pass and headed to departures. This is has a huge duty free area but it took me ages to find anywhere selling baguettes and drinks to take on board with me. There are no Boots ‘Meal Deals here’, and a bottle of diet coke set me back €3.30.

The departure gate was announced and I started the long walk to gates B. I got to immigration and there was a major panic as I’d managed to lose my boarding card… Immigration shrugged and said I was on the computer and it didn’t matter. (I was and it didn’t.) It was an even longer walk to the gate.

The flight was virtually full and we began boarding 30 minutes before we were due to leave. Staff checked my name on the computer and I was aboard. I had a spare seat next to me. The overhead lockers were full but there was plenty of space under the seat for my rucksack and still enough room for my feet.

Again it was a good flight and we were into Manchester early. Cabin crew came round selling food from the trolley and this was followed by the duty free goods.

We landed at the far end of terminal two and descended the stairs onto the wet tarmac on a very cold Manchester Evening. It was a very long walk back to Immigration. This is now fully automatic but there were plenty of staff on hand to help. It was then another long walk and wait for baggage reclaim.

I visited here as part of a “‘Flavours of Spain'”:http://www.solosholidays.co.uk/spain/discovery-tours/flavours-of-spain holiday arranged with “Solos Holidays.”:http://www.solosholidays.co.uk/
