We were enjoying superb weather, gorgeous cliff walks, and really wondering why we head off to foreign shores when such stunning scenery is on our doorstep!
On one of our treks we stumbled upon The Minack Theatre. We were staggered at the setting, set right on the edge of cliffs which seem to plummet into the sea, whilst the wildest of seas crash against the rocks below.
We decided to try and obtain tickets for any available evening whilst we were on vacation. We were so fortunate to receive two tickets which had just been returned! They were for that evening. Wow, what luck!
We decided to queue early so that we could get a good place to sit. The cliff was carved into terraces, each one had grass planted on it to make things a little softer on ageing posteriors. Most people came prepared with cushions however, and blankets.
The atmosphere was amazing. We waited in anticipation to hear a local group called The Fishermans Friends. We were not disappointed! The acoustics were brilliant.
The whole evening was superb, the waves smashing relentlessly on the rocks below was an experience not to be missed and we will certainly not leave it to luck to get tickets next time.
