Our 11th floor ‘Privilege’ room was very spacious – with a really wide bed and excellent views of the ‘Liver Birds’ and the river.
Bathroom had a wide walk-in shower with ceiling spray as well as hand-held spray head. Bathrobes and slippers.
Good sized wide screen TV, and sizeable safe.
Plenty of well placed power sockets.
We were disappointed – at this our annual get-together – to find that the bars stopped serving drinks, including to residents, before 1 a.m. – we were told that we’d have to use room service if we wanted any more drinks… this didn’t quite match the usual spirit of our gatherings.
Breakfast was adequate, though saw more than one person having to return to the hot selection to complete their choice as new servings replaced those trays that were totally empty when they first tried to ‘build’ their ideal breakfast – but the staff attending tables were cheerful and efficient.
Finding this ‘good staff – questionable management practices’ becoming more prevalent?
Most surprising here was the large ‘bin’ of regular T-bags, with no other (herbal, decaf etc) readily available (though some, presumably, available to order).
A final good point – when we got home I realised I’d left my Kindle on the bedside table and emailed the hotel late that evening – got a reply in the morning to say it had been found and would be posted back to me for a small charge – provided cc details by phone (again – dealt with pleasantly by good staff) and, sure enough, got it back safe and sound – unlike a previous poster who’d lost one on a flight.
