Relaxation

The nearest campsite to Bournemouth is very convenient. From London's M25, you get on the M3, M27, A31, A338, B3073 and it is signposted through a residential area and down the end of Stour Way. First impressions were very positive and this continued throughout our stay. The site has beautiful well tended flowers, in hanging baskets, tubs, etc, and the grounds are lovingly cared for. No dogs or pets are allowed on this site, which is a bonus for us: no noise, no mess, no hassle. The reception was spacious and welcoming with lots of brouchures, posters and information. The check-in was quick and efficient. This is a popular site and we were lucky to find a week's plot in September on a pitch with its own water and electric supply, with a pebbled area for an awning. The free spectacular Air Show is a large attraction, so book early if you want to see this event. There's a lot going on in Bournemouth, so check the venues. We wanted to be near a bus stop because we did not know the area or parking places. A week's ticket was good value, and gave us access to everywhere we wanted, e.g. Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, and Castlepoint shopping centre. The stop was a short walk up Stour way and the buses went regularly both ways within ten minutes of each other. The shower/toilet block was immaculately kept. It looked like a brand new structure. A bath was available as well as several showers. I never had a wait to use the facilities. A fish and chop van visited the site on certain days and times, which were well published on a sign board. This was popular and top quality. Quite a social event to chat and wait for it. We had a laptop and were easily able to connect to the internet from our caravan. The local fishing was popular, just a short walk from the caravan. There is no bar or club on the site, a positive advantage for us. However plenty going on a short journey away, if you want that. We loved it and will definitely return.
