Relaxation

To combine time in Venice with a relaxing holiday in a typically picturesque part of rural northern Italy, this is an ideal base to choose. The villa is a former farmhouse, tastefully restored by the owners who run the place immaculately. It is very convenient to Treviso airport and about 90-minutes drive from the centre of Venice. We stayed only one night during an Italian tour, but could see what a wonderful place it would be to return and relax after a full day (or days) sight-seeing in Venice. The villa is set among tree-lined hills above the small town of Susegana and the first impression on arrival is of tranquility – and this continues inside the house and its spacious gardens (including a pool). Most of the produce is home grown and the owner makes his own wine – the excellent Nasi Rossi, perfect for that evening drink on the terrace. Although it presents itself as a B&B, there is the option of a light evening meal if ordered in advance and also a traditional trattoria is located in the nearby village of Collalto, within walking distance of the villa.
