Situated in the Hall Green area of Birmingham The Marrakech is a popular restaurant with friendly staff, a very good menu and has a clean and comfortable ambience. We have never visited Morocco and are not familiar with their food so were really delighted with our excellent meal. After a delicious houmous starter with flatbread, we chose our main from the Tagine section. It arrived steaming hot – when the lid was lifted, the aroma of the mixed spices stirred our tastebuds The Casablanca dish was served with lamb and the Djaj,Chicken Breast. Ginger, lemon,and olives were some of the spices with a saffron sauce The accompanying garlic cheese bread was perfect. Finally, the sweet baklava was lovely and we felt we had feasted well.
The Marrakech offers something different and it is best to reserve a table. They do not sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own drinks. Its location on the busy Stratford Road shopping and restaurant area has no parking except alongside the road but we had no difficulty finding a nearby spot. Highly recommend.
