Banus is an excellent hotel ten minutes’ walk from Banus harbor. Leave by the back entrance by the waterfall pool and then a simple stroll along the promenade tor Puerto Banus. My wife selected to have the “Level” service and half board which we feel was the perfect choice. The level service gave us access to the Level lounge providing soft drinks, coffee and wine all day plus a two-hour happy hour servicing acholic beverages at six in the evening. The half board gave us access to a slightly limited but excellent buffet serving freshly produced food, the fish and meat being cooked to your requirements as you watch. If you fancy visiting Banus in the evening for your evening meal you can swop dinner for lunch on half board. The hotel is clean and during our visit quite (no kids). All staff are courteous, friendly and helpful.
Our personal recommendations to the hotel include possibly having a few sun umbrellas located about the pool areas for those people who don’t wish to sit in the sun all day. To keep moving your sunbed to ensure that you are positioned under the shade of the trees is tiresome. Plus, some form of heating in the evening restaurant would have been welcome, the September evenings can get a little chilly. My wife and I also agree with a previous guest who spoke of inconsiderate smokers, please move further away from those guests sitting inside. The smoke does drift into the Dining room, bar and level one lounge areas. The hotel should certainly ban the smoking of cigars. Our final annoyance would be those ill-mannered guests who dip their hands into the “cookie-jar” to obtain the sweets, nuts or crisps and don’t use the utensils provided. These same guests use their hands to pick-up and inspect (sometimes just putting it back) the snacks and sandwiches provided by the Level Lounge. Use the tongs provided, we don’t know where your hands have been.
We highly recommend this hotel and will be coming again.
