Reasons for trip

I’ve been on most of the Savour Stratford self-guided trails over the past few years and a couple of weeks ago my sister and I went on the “Maple Trail”:https://visitstratford.ca/ that is on in March/April to coincide with maple syrup season. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Tourist Information Office at 47 Downie Street. The price of the trail has gone up recently from $25 to $30 (plus 13% tax) but it still remains a good deal. For this price you receive 6 coupons, a map and a description of the vendors around town (some trails include the small town of St. Mary’s) and what you will receive for your coupon.

Take note of the vendors’ opening times. We took the tour on a Monday and about half of the vendors were not open. However, the coupons are valid until the end of April so if you’re in town for more than one day you don’t have to use your coupons all in one day.

So far I have used four of my coupons and received: a 330 ml bottle of Maple Balsamic Dressing from Bradshaws kitchen shop on Ontario Street; a quarter-pound bag of Maple Mocha Java freshly roasted coffee beans from Buzz Stop on York Street; a 50 ml maple leaf jar of maple syrup and two maple sugar fondants from Gentle Rain Natural Health Food Store; and a 175 ml bottle of Maple Balsamic Dressing from The Pulp on Downie Street. I made a stir fry with the Maple Balsamic Dressing and it was delicious. I should point out that Bradshaws provides a choice between the dressing, Maple Bacon Aioli, Maple Chipotle Grille Sauce or Maple Bacon Onion Spread.

I’ll be back as I have my eye on a Maple Cupcake from Kandy Cakes and some Aged Maple Balsamic Vinegar from Olive Your Favourites, both on York Street.
