This is one of a series of more detailed reviews about the Manx Museum and describes the Folk Life gallery in the basement. I found this one of the most interesting parts of the museum along with the Celtic and Viking galleries. It very much links in with places like “Cregneash”:https://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/travel-product/attraction-museum/193826 and “The Grove Museum”:https://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review?id=193865 in Ramsey.
There is a reconstruction of a Manx cottage, fisherman’s store and general shop, along with a display of spinning wheels and a weaver’s loom. There are displays of old farm machinery as well as examples of sundials. There are also some beautiful C19th ladies dresses.
