Reasons for trip

A couple of years ago we took this day cruise from Salford (Manchester) to Liverpool. We were looking to do it again in the opposite direction, but it seems that now (or whenever they can restart) it will be only from Liverpool halfway down the canal then turn around and return. Shame.

It was great to board in Media City. All the way we were informed and entertained by a volunteer Blue Badge Guide who talked us through everything we passed and all the history. Then through locks and through the Cheshire meadows to the major locks at Eastham on the Wirral and out into the mighty River Mersey itself opposite John Lennon Airport.

Docked at the famous Pier Head and given enough time for a drink in a real Liverpool pub and them on the bus to take us back to the start by road.

Really looking forward to seeing it all from the opposite direction Liverpool to Manchester.
