We strolled around the grounds after enjoying a leisurely punt along the river. As we were with a family member who was also a student, we were entitled to a discounted entry fee of £4.00 each. Time stood still as we admired the ancient honey-coloured buildings, the many and varied beautiful flowers and people playing croquet on the manicured lawns. A gentle walk took us past the deer park and alongside a river until we reached a tranquil area with seating beside a pond full of lilies. The riverside walk is even prettier in spring when the banks are covered in spring flowers including daffodils and fritillaria.
