Madeira is a beautiful place just like the old Portugal but in the sun. We went to Funchal Madeira’s capital. It’s very hilly (which can be unfortunate for some unless you get an hotel on the Main Street) so it makes it great for walkers. You can even have a toboggan race down the hills.
