This is a lovely 4 star hotel in the style of an old country house, between Sunninghill and Sunningdale, and near Ascot. It has a lovely large reception area with an open log fire and sofas. The furniture is large, traditional and dark. The restaurant serves good food and as expected, the wine is expensive. Also, beware the water at meal times- as this costs £5 per bottle. Our room was on the small side, but adequate and had the usual facilities, including tea and coffee, extortionate mini bar, but the bathroom had a good shower. The best thing about the hotel is the spa, especially the outdoor hydrotherapy pool. It was lovely to sit outside in the fresh cold January air on your face, but be lovely and toasty in the jacuzzi type large outdoor pool. There are also a number of therapy rooms, such as an infra red sauna, rock sauna, ice igloo, salt steam room etc. The changing facilities are good and a dressing gown and slippers can be hired for £5. I would recommend this hotel for it's food and spa facilities, but would ask for a room upgrade next time. The restaurant staff are very good- very professional and friendly. The lift wasn't working so we had to mount 2 flights of stairs also!
