Lydford Gorge belongs to the NationalTrust. They have managed this beautiful gorge very successfully. They have managed to make good all the damage done by this year's storms. The walk is quite energetic in places although there is an alternative route. The waterfalls are stunning and despite a very full car park, the gorge exuded peace and tranquillity. It was a very hot day and the cool under the trees was very welcome. The restaurant offered a welcome refreshment stop. We did not have any food but the menu looked good. The shop had the usual NT goodies and all the staff were very pleasant.
