Relaxation/Wellness

Was very pleased to find a hotel with spa facilities that didn’t restrict guests to a one-hour slot using the facilities. We could use the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym from check in to check out. The hotel is situated a few minutes’ drive from York Designer Outlet. We had a ground floor room with french doors which I really liked because it made the room feel bigger and gave the feeling of having a garden area. I know this might not suit everyone because of security but I was very pleased. The room did feel a little dated and there was wallpaper peeling from the walls. It was also rather cold at times, probably due to the draught from the wooden doors and window. The bed was big and comfortable. A really nice touch was the Elemis products in the bathroom. These were a welcome change from the usual, bland products. Staff at the spa were welcoming and friendly. The pool was a nice size and temperature. The only disappointing thing about it was a young couple who were messing around and grabbing each other rather than swimming or relaxing. We particularly liked the salt room and jacuzzi. There was plenty of room in each facility and lots of sun loungers around the pool. Finally, breakfast was buffet style with a great selection of continental and hot food. Waiting staff were attentive and efficient and the food was delicious. I’d definitely return.
