My daughter took me to Longleat last week. I have a rollator but am still waiting for my blue badge which I recently applied for so she phoned ahead to Longleat to explain I don’t walk far and also my macular degeneration means I am at risk of a fall. They were very helpful and sent us a form so we could park in a disabled bay. We started at the coffee shop right next to the car park which was welcome after a long drive of 2 hours and not very busy and I was delighted that there were no steps anywhere at Longleat so I could see everything – although I declined to go into the bat cave. The zoo was small but plenty to see and a short walk to the boat for gorilla island which had a ramp for my rollator and room to put it on the boat so it didn’t get in the way. Then through the butterfly house which was lovely but very warm. I didn’t get out to do the lemur walk so not sure about accessibility but the safari was the highlight. Having monkeys jumping on the car was funny. For anyone not good on their legs, it’s a super day out.
