Friends recommended Lofty Fig Villas as the place to stay when exploring Abaco and we weren't disappointed. Arriving at the Marsh Harbour Airport on a Flamingo Air flight from Grand Bahama, it's about 10 mins to get to Lofty Fig. The Villas are set around a small pool and Sid (owner) gives you a brief orientation of the facilities after check-in. A comfortable bed in the lounge/bedroom, a well equipped kitchen and a netted patio provided everything we needed to have a comfortable stay and prepare our own meals if we wished. Facilities included A/C, ceiling fans, safe, cable TV and complimentary WiFi. Chairs, tables and loungers were provided around the pool and there was a hammock to relax in too. There are hardly any steps here, so highly suitable for individuals with mobility issues but check with Sid regarding your own needs. The Villas are ideally situated with plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. There is a convenience store one side and Jimmy's for beer and wine on the other. Curly Tails is right across the street for a cool one, with views across the Marina. Maxwells supermarket is about 20 mins walk away. The ferry to Great Guana Cay leaves next to Curly Tails and the ferry for Hope Town or Man o war Cay is about 20 mins walk or a $7 taxi ride away. Sid is a great source of information of what to do, where to go and is happy to sit and chat this through with you. Sid organised us a Taxi to the airport and uses Taxi 129. Fabian's a polite and pleasant driver with a nice vehicle or if you want to organise it yourself he's on 242 4775699. It was $15 to the airport. Great place to base your exploration of Abaco.
