Reasons for trip

As a day visitor to Liverpool, it wouldn't have occurred to me to visit the library, but after hearing only good things about this place, I thought I'd better have a look. After all, it's positioned between the Walker Art Gallery and the World Museum, two attractions I was planning to visit anyway. As soon as I entered the Library I was blown away, by the sheer magnitude of the place. It really is a jaw dropping experience, just to look up through all the floors to the impressive skylight. The Picton reading room is an oasis of calm, and is a must see, as is the Hornby library. You must take the lift to the rooftop terrace, where you can gaze in wonderment at the wonderful Liverpool skyline; you can even see the Liver Birds in the distance. But the best is yet to come; you simply must seek out Audubon's book of birds, which is an awe inspiring sight. It is, of course, securely locked away behind a glass case, but I guarantee that when you see it, you will be mesmerised, this is a work of art, of the highest magnitude. Please do visit this library if you're visiting Liverpool, it's only a five minute walk from Lime Street station, and is open till 8pm (Mon – Fri) (5pm Sat & Sun), and they have a lovely coffee shop too, so don't waste your time at the station, if you've got time to spare pop across the road to this wonderful library, you'll be glad you did.
