Reasons for trip

Stayed at John Lennon Hotel, great for those who like art deco and/or aircraft with modern conveniences. Visited the pre-raphaelite exhibition at the Walker Gallery which was excellent and the Museum of Liverpool on Saturday. A visit to the Lady Lever Gallery at Port Sunlight on the Sunday to avoid the marathon crowds was fascinating. Liverpool is a great weekend break although longer would have been better. A day’s travel pass costs £5.20 which will take you as far as Chester to the south or Southport to the north makes it a great centre for exploring the area.
