Reasons for trip

We spent five days in Liverpool on a coach trip recently as second choice as a trip to the Lakes was cancelled. What a fortunate opportunity! We enjoyed our stay at the Adelphi which is such an amazing building and good value for money. Having afternoon tea there is the lovely salon is like stepping back in time to the glory days when Cunard and White Star passengers would relax before their voyages. All the most popular tourist sites are in walking distance or the City Tour bus stops right outside. The beautiful cathedrals are both well worth a visit and also the Albert dock.al. The Tate is free but be prepared for an extra charge for those nationally advertised exhibitions like the recent Jackson Pollock. Every visitor is obliged to “do the Beatles thing” So a trip to the cavern club and a stroll down Matthew Street takes you back to the swinging sixties. The steps down to the club are many and steep and it is very warm down there on a hot summer day. The Mayan exhibition at the Museum of the World offers the opportunity to learn about this ancient civilisation and Bug World is really creepy!! The Philharmonic pub near the Philharmonic Hall is so ornate and each room named after composers is very unusual even the toilets are architecturally mind blowing even if you are not Brahms and Listz! A trip across the Mersey from pier Head offers a great view of old and new Liverpool and the commentary is very informative .If shopping is your thing you could not visit a better place and China Town is a wonderful area for food.

All in all Liverpool is a great place to visit to meet any traveller’s needs.
