We stayed at Little Heathfield in April of this year. The cottage has a thatched roof and looks just like the pictures you used to get on the boxes of chocolates years ago. Remember the idyllic cottage set in a beautiful cottage garden? Well it is just like that. The garden borders woodland and the variety of birds is wonderful. New Forest ponies can be found wandering around just down the road and the peaceful atmosphere is absolutely amazing. The owner lives in the adjoining cottage and nothing is too much trouble. A welcome tray awaits you on arrival and if you need anything you only have to ask. The cottage is suitable for people who are able to manage stairs as the bedroom and bathroom are upstairs. It is not suitable for anyone using a wheelchair. Christchurch is the nearest town so you would need a car if you stayed here. This is a wonderful place to stay and we have returned here for the last three years and fully intend to continue – it really does feel like home.
