Reasons for trip

Relaxation

We have been coming to this hotel for about 20 years and loved it. The place is spotless the rooms cosy and wecoming as are the staff. We have always judged good hotels agains this one and few could match it. However this last visit was not up to the standard we were used to. The only thing changed however was the food. I feel they were a bit mean with the portions and there was not a lot of choice. Subsequent to our visit we have been told by the hotel that they are to stop providing lunch and dinner. The reason stated was the turnover of kitchen staff and the cost of raw materials . This I feel will be the death knell for the hotel. It is remote unless you are driving so going out for a meal at night would mean a walk ot taking the car and having no wine with you meal. A lot of thier customers are older guests and some in wheelchairs so I do not expect them to accept this state of affairs. We are sad to say it but we will not bw back.
