Reasons for trip

Lincoln Cathedral is a major tourist attraction and I was wanting to include it on an article I am writing about Accesible Attractions in Lincolnshire.

This review just covers disabled access to the building. Surprisingly there is no information about this on their website. Information is based on my experience and also talking to staff on the reception desk.

I was impressed by what they do. All the cathedral is accessible by wheelchair and ramps are provided where there are steps. There are also wheelchairs provided for visitors use. The floor tour can be done although not the roof tour.

Disabled toilets are provided in the cloisters.

Assistance dogs are allowed in the cathedral.

Large print information is available, but not braille. There is also an audio guide.

There is some disablde parking in Minster Yard, otherwise it is possible to drop visitors off at the front of the cathedral.

There is a reduction for over 60s but no concessonary rate for the disabled.
