Hubby and I recently spent a very enjoyable overnight stay in the beautiful City of Lichfield in Staffordshire. The town itself is pedestrian friendly, has great parking facilities including many disabled parking bays, many good quality shops, restaurants and cafes. We decided that a walk around the three spires Cathedral was a must as we had never seen it before, this being our first trip to the City. We weren’t disappointed, the architecture both inside and out is amazing and well worth a visit.
Our overnight stay was at the excellent 3-star Best Western George Hotel situated in the City Centre so we were close to all amenities, Cathedral and Beacon Park. The hotel has onsite free parking, lift, free wifi is available throughout the hotel, also has outside seated area at the back.
Our room was a standard twin room which was small but adequate for our stay. Toiletries, hair dryer, ironing board and iron and cooling fan were provided. The bathroom had an over the bath shower.
On the evening of our stay we ate in the Darwin restaurant at the hotel and the food was excellent. The following morning we visited Beacon Park, a vast park, beautifully kept gardens and excellent facilities for children including some equipment suitable for disabled children to enjoy.
Our visit to Lichfield was fabulous, the town, Cathedral, Hotel, everything lived up to our expectations.
