We have a timeshare unit here so have stayed under a number of different management companies, the latest being Legacy. They are continuing with the upgrade work we were 'assessed' for by the previous management (Celebrity) – but claim to have no intention of levying another assessment.
The units are well designed and generally well fitted. The location just off Highway 192 is handy for Walt Disney World (15 minutes drive), and not far from Universal, Sea World, and the Orlando International Airport (all within 20-30 minutes drive).
There are 4 pool areas – the main pool also being the 'entertainment' zone under this new management. A variety of things going on that some might find too much (like the 3-hour karaoke daily karaoke sessions that drove us to a different – quiet – pool!). The main pool area also has a large family barbecue that was being put to good use by vacationers (including ourselves on one occasion). The 'Marketplace' does reasonably good snack food.
In addition to the four pools, there's a sand-volleyball court; a tennis court; indoor fitness centre, and a garden area with a kiddies 'splash' area.
A number of eateries – including Perkins and TGI Friday's – are in easy walking distance. The Publix supermarket is one block away, on the other side of H192. Old Town is about 20-30 minutes walk, using the sidewalk – or 5-minutes drive.
If you come to holiday here, and allow them to give you the 'sales pitch' for buying into the Legacy Points System for continued holidays, be clear about what you're buying into. We've had many good holidays thru timeshare, but it isn't for everyone or, even if it's right for you now it may not be in the future – so be sure to know what you're signing-up for and also make sure that you know how you can 'get out' should you decide to do so, either soon after signing or some years down the line.
