This immensely popular annual event is held in Millennium Square in the heart of Leeds. It is a pedestrianised plaza surrounded by bars and restaurants, but the main attraction in December is the authentic German market. Wooden stalls are brightly lit, with a huge variation in quality items, many suitable for Christmas presents. There is food a plenty with everything from sausages to nuts to hundreds of sweet goodies. Gluhwein is available in abundance to help matters go with a swing, although the hundreds of revellers inside the mighty Bierkeller tent don't appear to need any further encouragement! The raucous oompah band and table stomping can be heard all around. Be warned that there are lengthy queues in the evenings to get into this hall. Generally though, it is a family orientated event which will bring a smile to faces of all ages.
