Reasons for trip

A short break on Brittany Ferries to Roscoff to enjoy the seafood, the wonderful fields of artichokes, lettuce & the famous cauliflowers. Looking like a vast garden. So many delightful little restaurants overlooking the sea, serving mussels with chips or soups de poison.

We go every year to our favourite little hotel overlooking the sea & the Isle de Batz. hotel aux Tamaris in the quiet part of Roscoff. Free parking & an easy walk to the restaurants. Each year we go to Le Surcouf. Famous for its soups de Poisson & platter do Fruits de Mer. We are greeted warmyly by Management & all goes well to start with but then they get very busy & orders take time to arrive. I had delicious Oysters, then the best duck ever with crispy skin & tasty sauce. My partner had soups de poisson with accompaniments, which was good. But then a local fish dish, full of bones! This was on the 30 euros menu. Next a sorbet Le Colonel, with vodka as a digestive, but an apple sorbet arrived! We had waited too long to send it back, get attention & get Le. colonel.

We met another couple who had the same view. Service took far too long. Too many customers were crammed in & it wasn’t the service we expected. We did however see two women really tucking in & enjoying their huge platter of Fruits de Mer.
