The apartments sit above the skiing lift known as the “Three Valleys Express” which links into the skiing at Val Thorens, the world’s largest totally linked ski area. It is not ski in-ski out by a long way but equally it is very easy to get to by car, being only 6 km from the motorway, and by train of coach. Whilst the 3Vs gives you many kilometres of every level of ski slope it is expensive but by basing at Orelle you get an alternative to control costs with access to half a dozen smaller and much cheaper resorts for days away. The apartment complex has a swimming pool/fitness centre, restaurant, bar and mini-market. Wifi has to be paid for and sometimes there are groups of youngsters, although we have never found them intrusive. Some of the units are pretty basic but the one we use is very well equipped.
In the summer occupancy is pretty low but there are some superb walks, cycling for those that can cope with some big hills and a lot of historical sights to visit plus day trips into Italy (Turin especially).
