Reasons for trip

This delightful family run French restaurant is a joy to eat in whilst looking at the sea & watching windsurfers or mature French women walking along the sea in the sea for their exercise.

We went there for Sunday lunch with 50 other happy families. Booking a table is essential, especially if you want the view. Eating outside is good too if the wind is not too strong.

We had an excellent 3 course menu. I had oysters simply prepared on seaweed & so fresh. My partner had the soupe de poison with all its bits. Delicious too. A bottle of Rose de Provence seemed just right in that sunny jolly atmosphere. We then both had Poitrine de Pork ( belly pork) so tender & served on vegetables including artichoke hearts. Dessert was Tart au Citrine, a lovely light very lemony cheesecake. The bill came to 65 euros for a good lunch, scenic view & delightful Patron, wife & daughter. They both came from Roscoff but met in Plymouth at a Business School & so spoke good English.

There is a lot to see in that area near Roscoff and the beautiful Baie de Morlaix. The famous Chateau du Taureau anchored in the middle of one of Brittany’s most beautiful bays with boat trips out to visit it. The whole area is stunningly beautiful if you like reefs, granite rocks, and yachts that go out in all weathers. Some of the best sailors come from Brittany.

If you love gardens there is the Jardin Exotique et Botanique full of beautiful tropical plants & with stupendous views from a platform you can walk up the stairs to view the Marina below. Fantastic for photographers.

The whole area is famous for its Artichoke growing & they use them in some menus including a delicious Galette with ham & cheese & their local Breton cider.
