Coursegoules is a village perched high up on a rocky spud at the foot of Mt. Chevron overlooking the Plateau and awesome ravine of the river.
Outside is a charming terrace with mountain views. Inside the cafe is full of flowers. There is no written menu but Sophie comes round with advice on the dishes of the day. 3 choices for the 3 courses. We had a delicious savoury courgette tart in filo pastry. Much better than it sounds. Followed by roast pork with plenty of vegetables. Stuffed tomatoes and mushrooms, courgette fritters and sweet corn mash with garlic and herbs. All very tasty. Then a lemon tart, chocolate mousse or tempting cheeses. The piece de resistance, a box of chocolates to take your pick from.
