This is a small and basic cafe next to the MER Laxey tram stop. It isn’t very big so don’t expect a huge choice of menu. It serves soup, hot dogs, scones and a selection of crisps and chocolates as well as ice cream. Look out for the small plates of lemon drizzle cake and Bakewell slice next to the small service counter. I can recommend both and they are reasonably priced at £2.50 a slice.
There is some seating inside as well as plenty of picnic tables outside. Service can be a bit slow, particularly if a tram has just arrived and there is a queue. This is a real step back 50 years – you don’t see many cafes like this now and perhaps that is part of its charm?
