For my 65th birthday, my wife and I visited Langley Castle in Northumberland. We took a marvellous route from Barnard Castle on a B road and actually did not see another vehicle for miles. We eventually arrived, checked in and wondered at the splendour of the castle and accommodation. Afternoon cream tea was lovely. The highlight though, was the evening meal. We both loved the food on display and congratulated the chef and of course the tremendously helpful and cheerful staff. My only problem was that we only booked one night. After a superb breakfast we had a complimentary tour of the battlements. It is a great place to stay and visit Hadrian’s Wall if you have the time.
We will certainly book again.
