Reasons for trip

Lanchester Garden Center is just a bit different to any other Garden Center I have ever visited.

So what’s so different about it?

Well, how many Garden Centres do you know that have a dedicated under cover play room for the little ones?

It has two large wooden Wendy Houses that kids just love to play house in, a large wooden Fort where the boys play soldiers, loads of kiddy cars and bikes and numerous large rubber dinosaurs to stimulate play.

Would you consider inviting friends to Dinner at a Garden Centre? The Greenhouse Restaurant is popular throughout the day for the ladies who lunch, discerning diners in the evening, and afternoon teas for those of us that don’t give a fig for Slimmers World.

It is set in a beautiful rural setting on a country road between the Durham villages of Tow Law and Lanchester

You can watch chainsaw artists turn a piece of wood into an owl or a sheep or
a wonderful Totem Pole.

How many other Garden Centres have created a wonderfully managed garden with a lovely selection of shrubs and plants and features that you just wish you could incorporate in your own garden?

You can pretty much buy anything here. Ice Cream, Wine, Beer, Toys, Plants, Furniture, Cakes, Pies, Jams, Wild Bird Food, Pots, Pans, Garden Sheds, Huts, Playhouses, Antiques. You name it. It’s here and available to buy.

We go there every other week with the grandkids. We don’t buy much, but the kids have a great time looking at the Eagle Owls and other Birds of Prey in their cages or just playing in the play room fort, or riding in the cars and bikes that are provided. And chasing the ducks in the garden of course!

It’s a great way to spend half a day with the little ones. Winter or Summer!
